More Throwing Harris

Harris still loves to be tossed in the air. It's becoming more difficult for Brian since Harris has put on some weight. However, Brian hits the weights at the gym pretty hard, so it might be awhile before the game is retired. (I like to put these pictures up because I think it gives his grandma a heart attack. No reason to panic though since Brian hasn't missed yet)

I hear from a lot of people that I never put my picture up on the blog. One of the reasons is because I'm behind the camera most of the time, not in front of it. The other is that I usually don't like my picture. However, I'll be working on changing that and I'll put more pictures including me up on the blog...including the bad ones :)

Harris likes to touch my face when I hold him. It starts off soft and then he's clawing with his nails - a good reason by the way to keep them trimmed. He's starting messing with my moles (or beauty marks as my grandma would say) like their little buttons.

We were out playing in his pool the other day. I put some swim trunks on him and he looked like such a big boy. On the concrete patio, he doesn't like his knees to touch. Therefore he crawls on all fours. It's cute to watch.

We Are Suckers for Harris

We did some pictures of Harris last night while the evening was still pretty warm. I saw the sucker at the Fresh Market grocery and thought it was make a great prop. I love the red and knew I had a pair of overall shorts in red as well. It was a messy shoot but well worth it. Brian took several pictures as well and helped with Harris so much.

The picture below reminds me of Brian's sister Carrie. There's a picture of her as a kid where she looks like she's pouting and this picture reminds me of that. I think it's the eyebrows. Brian and Carrie have the same ones.
I'm learning more about Photoshop all the time. I had lots of fun making the picture below.

Frog Tongue

Harris loves to watch other kids play. One of our neighbor's kids was out yesterday and Harris watched and pounded on the screen.

My friend Kim made Harris his own custom shirt. She knows he looks great in orange and that his bedroom has a frog theme. I thought the picture below with his tongue out resembled that of a frog.

He's becoming worse than a puppy with all his chewing. He bites me a lot and now he's starting on the furniture. I'm finding little teeth marks on the chair. It's true what they say about not having anything nice when you have a kid.

Harris loves to be up on the couch. He still doesn't understand that he needs to get down feet first and not lead with his face.

Since it was so warm today, we went swimming in his little pool. We loaded up on sun screen and just relaxed outside.

Playing with Friends

Today was great because Harris's friends Connor and Logan came over to play. I had a great time too visiting with my friend Kim. They now live in St. Louis, so visiting with them was extra special.

Below is Logan being all cute.

One of the few pictures I have with all three of them. As soon as the picture was snapped, they scattered like roaches. Who wants to sit when there's so much havoc to wreak? (I'm not sure looking at this picture which one is Connor and which is Logan - sorry Kim)

Connor is trying to teach Harris how to climb.

Connor and Logan also loved walking the chairs around the kitchen. This was something new to Harris so he had to join in.

Mornings

One of the best times of the day for Harris are the mornings. He eats really well and loves to play. He usually gets to watch one of his movies while Momma cleans up. He's been enjoying the Teletubbies lately. I was amazed one day at how long that movie seemed to play. Come to find out, there was a skip in the movie and it kept jumping back to a previous part. Essentially it was caught in an infinite loop. Teletubbies have a tendency of repeating things anyways so that's why I didn't notice right away. I only found out after sitting and watching it with him. Tinky Winky was following some footprints made of Tubby custard. Then the movie jumped and he's stuffing Tubby toast in his purse. I was like "What happened to the Tubby custard? Who took the Tubby custard?!!!" My life is quite pathetic.

Some pictures of Harris. Now that his hair is getting longer, he wakes up with some serious Bed Head. Too cute.

Enjoying his Teletubbies.

He must pick on Mia at least once a day. He tries to grab her while she does her low growl of warning. She bats at him with her paw which has no effect because she's declawed. He finds that funny. Eventually she puts her teeth on him momentarily and he'll stop. Then it starts all over again.

Harris loves anything electronic (imagine that). If there's a button to push, he'll push it. If there's a light that comes on, that's great. If it makes a sound, even better. I've come across the phone sitting on the floor to find that it's been on for over an hour. Hopefully no one was trying to call during that time.

Harris loves to see Dadda off to work everyday. He loves to untie Dadda's shoes as he's getting ready.
Dadda misses Harris while he's at work.

Recent Videos

Just some videos of Harris. The first is him watching the "Cage Match" video of him and Mia in the pack and play. He loves to see his own pictures and movies on the computer. I don't know where he gets that laugh from. I call him bat boy because it sounds like clicking to me.

Our one cat Jack is so starved for attention ever since Harris arrived that he's willing to tolerate Harris crawling all over him just so he can be petted by Brian. Poor Jack.

Final Cake for Course 1

Last Thursday was my final class for the Wilton Course 1. The picture below is my final cake. Definitely need to practice the roses. Those are more difficult than I thought they would be. Chocolate icing is soooooo good.

I've started a new course which is the Fondant and Gumpaste Course. Monday was the first class and it much more fast paced than the previous introductory one. I was struggling to keep up with the instructor and other ladies.

Brian called me on my cell during the class but then hung up. When I got home he said that Harris had taken his first steps that night. I was upset that I missed it and couldn't help but cry. I'm glad that Brian got to see something first and especially such a special one.

Harris's 1st Zoo Trip

Today was great because we all went to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. Brian took a half day of vacation so that we could enjoy the beautiful day there. Harris did well. He didn't seem to pay too much attention to the animals unless they were really big (ie the giraffe). He just seemed to enjoy watching the other kids.

Lots of pictures to show. Below is Harris playing with the drums in the African Veldt.

Are you my Daddy??

He was really fascinated by the hands of the orangutan. They're very human like.

Big bug.....gross!

Brian picked the rhino since it didn't go up and down. He thought it might be less scary for Harris.

Brian said that as the ride went faster, Harris's grip tightened :)

He's tired of the stroller by this point.

Ah, Dad's shoulders are so much better.

The komodo dragon.

Tastes like chicken. Hrmmm..chicken...

Happy Birthday Panama Granama

Sunday we went to visit my Mom to celebrate her birthday. The day was absolutely beautiful and we all relaxed outside. Mom went fishing for trout on Saturday and had her fishing hat out. Of course we had to make fun of it. My sister Jana came up with the name Panama Granama which I thought was hilarious.

Below is the cake I made for mom. The butterflies are made out of royal icing. I saw the idea in a cake book and decided to give it a try.

Enjoying the Weather II

We've been taking advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having lately. We love to put Harris in the grass and watch as he squirms. He hates to crawl in the grass because of how it feels on his hands. I believe that we could place him on a blanket surrounded by grass and know that he wouldn't move from the blanket.

1st Cake

I'm currently taking a cake decorating class by Wilton. Last night was the second session and we did our first cake. I think it turned out ok. I still have a lot to learn. I'm getting excited thinking about ideas for Harris's 1st birthday. I've seen all kinds of cake and party ideas. Hopefully this class will help me learn the basics so that I can be prepared by June.
